‘Turning Tides’ original acrylic painting

Turning Tides was painted after a trip down to the north Cornish coast for my 60th Birthday, where we visited the beaches of St Agnes, Perranporth and Portreath which influenced the creation of this painting with their rugged coastlines and a sense of openness and vastness beyond.
I’ve used impasto techniques which adds texture and a tactile quality to the painting. Adding dynamic brushwork to convey the energy and movement of the sea with a focus on capturing the interplay of light and water, particularly with the transparency of the water in the rock pools.
40x40cm on cradled wooden panel ready to hang.
