‘Farewell to Summer’ is an oil and cold wax painting one of five from my Reflections series. Its rich autumn colours and intense blue remind me of the palace gardens in Sintra, Portugal. We visited in September when the leaves had started to fall, the bright blue cloudless sky was reflected in the pools that cascade from top to bottom in the gardens.
